tracks from Detroit’s United Sound, to Kingston Jamaica’s Ch.1 Studios, Dannis is

the drumming foundation of the Death sound.

DANNIS HACKNEY/MOTOR CITY DRUMS Born and rasied in Detroit Michigan and growing up in the vitality of the melting pot of Detroit popular music spanning the 50s, 60s. and 70s, Dannis Hackney aquired the skill of drumming inspired by the sounds of the Motor City in Blues, Jazz, Motown, and Detroit and British imported Rock-N-Roll. Dannis purposely explored the stand-out drummers of hard Rock, glamor Rock, and Detroit blue-collar Rock while developing his own unique Rock drumming style which he applied to the intense and hard-driving Rock-N-Roll sound of DEATH

Dannis became the one-half of the Bass and Drum duo with brother Bobby to form the Reggae band LAMBSBREAD which became a popular New England based Reggae act. spanning from 1983 to 2008.
